A lofty ambition to be sure, but in practice, it really is all about getting back to basics and putting the focus on you. It doesn’t sound as novel or ground breaking when you put it that way, but it really is a difference you'll experience. To put it another way, there are literally hundreds of agents in Calgary and area that can very ably help you buy or sell a property. The question is... are they doing it for themselves? Or for you? Calgary Home Collective is a team of seasoned Realtors who are singularly focused on your customer experience.

Our goal is to not just work for your business, but your repeat business and recommendation. You are not a number, and this is not 'just another transaction'. Unless you're in the very small minority of people who close multi-million dollar acquisitions on a regular basis, your home will be the single biggest purchase of your life. Buying or selling your residential property is a very important decision and we will be with you the entire way. For us, that means doing research on your wants and needs in a home, pulling relevant market data and comparables, and looking after the details, no matter how small they appear during every part of the process.

Unlike many REALTORS®, real estate isn’t something I have just fallen into. Rather, it is a passion and something I have actively pursued. It has always been my dream to become a REALTOR® — something which only became clearer after the experience of buying my first home at the age of 23. The feeling of being a homeowner gave me such a thrill that I knew I wanted to help others experience the same feeling.

I love this industry, but more importantly, I love being involved in the lives of the people I work with. Real estate involves a lot of numbers, but to me, real estate is about you! I want to provide the best possible service to each and every person that I interact with, and in that way, to redefine service in real estate.

After buying my first home, I spent four years saving and saving in order to make the leap into real estate. In 2004, wanting to learn as much as I could, I started my real estate career by joining a team led by an agent with more than 25 years of experience. Four years after that, I partnered with another very successful agent. We set ourselves a goal that many thought was impossible: to sell a home a day. I am very proud to say that, two years later, we achieved that goal.

Now, with more than a decade of real estate experience under my belt, I am more committed than ever to my clients. Rather than numbers of sales or a certain amount of commission, my goal is always to give my clients the same feeling I had the day I bought my first home - and for them to enjoy themselves along the way. 

Last but far from least, no description of me would be complete without mentioning my wonderful twin daughters and my awesome wife, with whom I live happily in Northwest Calgary.

Maybe it was her childhood on the family ranch east of Calgary, learning that any job worth doing is worth doing right. Or perhaps it was moving to the big city after High School and the years spent in the restaurant industry where the size of gratuity acts as a clear and immediate indicator of your performance. No matter where the lesson took root, Melissa learned it well. 

Details matter. In 2007 a career shift saw her move from the bustle of nightly meal service to front line Reception at a busy Calgary brokerage. It was time for a change and Melissa got her first taste of real estate. She was hooked. A shift to an Admin Assistant role sated her craving for organization, while art and interior design classes offered a creative outlet. Working “hands-on” with a top producing team in the brokerage was a real education on the cycles of the Calgary real estate market. Melissa viewed these years as on-the-job training. An apprenticeship on what it takes to be successful, and effectively represent her clients as she watched and learned from some of the most respected teams in the city. 

For this farm girl, there are no short cuts. In 2017 Melissa acquired her Realtor's license and now brings that same work ethic, hustle and attention to detail to every deal she transacts on behalf of her clients. When not at the office, you'll find Melissa chauffeuring and cheering on her two boys at their various activities, plotting how to appear next to Pat Sajak on Wheel of Fortune, or whipping up some enchiladas in the kitchen while dreaming of her next Mexican getaway.
